Fresh off the kick start of the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show in Long Beach, CA and the results were just… Wow! We had outstanding builds that were world-class from fit, finish and design.
The first show of the season is a great place to catch up on the latest products. Like K&N Filters, they released a new articulated miniature shaker hood air cleaner that looked like it was plucked off a 1970’s era Dodge Challenger.
The SHO DOG is awarded to the individual that works the show to promote their business and the custom bike industry. Charles Hollom took to the stage and received a leather solo bag provided by The Leatherworks, the home of the nickel bag.
It’s also a great place to catch up and meet new and old friends alike. I ran into Keith Ball of Bikernet.com, the online custom bike magazine and he said, hey man you look great, you know when you gain a lot of weight, sometimes you really look healthy. He is a master of the back-handed complement.
And not long after that, I was talking with the new sheriff of J&P Cycles, Sean Laughlin, VP of Marketing, about our Dallas promotion, and some guy puts an arm around my neck and starts chocking me. Turns out it was Jeff Holt of HOT BIKE. He was in attendance with Dumptruck and a raven-haired leather-clad tatted-up chick that was asking people if they would like to be chocked. Needless to say, the kids were flying their freak flag high and proud.
