Austin built his winning bike from his backyard garage. Over the past few years he has been racking up the awards for his amazing bike builds. Double D’s faced stiff competition against Jack Deagazio’s “Evil or Sacred,” Todd Muller’s ’67 T120 Bonneville and Dave Cook’s 1947 HD WL but in the end the 1981 Yamaha XS took the point.

The jet touched down at 7PM on Thursday at the Miami Beach airport. I grabbed a cab for the Cadillac Courtyard by Marriott in North Beach, Florida. In 40 minutes I was sitting pool side with a glass of Jack listening to waves crash the surf in high 70 degree weather. Ahh, nothing better than the warmth of South Florida.

The first thing Friday morning I clicked on FOX News. They had co-anchors that looked like Barbie twins. The only way to tell them apart was one was blonde and the other brunette. The Teflon news babes were bright and shiny and read the news like a red carpet update from Hollywood. The weather girl wore a short hoochie-momma dress that accented her ample posterior and hour glass figure. South Florida has a certain feel all to its own. [Read more…]

Washington DC in January is cold, blustery and icy. And the weather is bad too.

But inside the facilities of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center it was hot with ground-up custom Choppers to monster wheel CanAm Spyder trikes. The DC Show had a little bit of everyting. Extended wheel ‘busas, choppers, bobbers, Cafe’ racers, Baggers, Groms and even charity bkes.

Aaron Egging’s ’73 Bonny

Aaron Egging takes 1st in Retro MOD at the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Show. Interest in Aaron Egging’s ’73 Bonny was intense. Enthusiasts and builders both circled the build.

Gleaming in the lights of Seattle’s Cathedral of Cool sat a 1973, robin egg blue Triumph Bonneville Bobber, highlighted with gold striping. Its chrome and paint glowed from unnumbered hours of polishing.
