Question: What drew you to the whole motorkulture scene?
Atomic Bob: I’d say what drew me in to the entire scene falls on history. my ol’ man is my dealer that also got me hooked as a kid. he had me hooked on alcohol, nitro, and methanol at a young age! ha!! We spent weekends at the drag strip, flat track, road courses, dirt drags, go kart races. I was exposed to all types of motorsports, and even today cant say i like one facet of the gearhead lifestyle more than any other….bikes, cars, planes even! just gimme, all the time. [Read more…]
Tim Dixon and Austin Andrella Talk Custom Bikes
Gas Axe Chop Shop will be representing 🇺🇸 at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in Germany in 2018!
Tim Dixon of Gas Axe Chop Shop, Tennessee, wins FreeStyle Class AMD World Championship prize at AIMExpo. He wins an expenses paid trip to compete at INTERMOT ‘Customized’, Cologne, Germany, in October 2018.
Voted for by the competitors themselves, Dixon took the win with a 1959 Panhead engined hand-crafted chopper called ‘Pennie Lane’.

Voted for by the custom bike show competitors, Tim Dixon of Gas Axe Chop Shop took the ‘W’ with a 1959 Panhead engined hand-crafted chopper called ‘Pennie Lane’. Custom designed, using a Model A front axle/reverse shock set-up with a Model A front spring for the rear swingarm, all the work was done in-house by Dixon and his talented crew with most of it on his manual machines.

After months of work, hours of taping and many late nights, Kacey Elkins of Krossover Customs came away with the win of the 2017 Paint Slinger Shootout Award.
The Stanford, Kentucky native made it to the “TOP 5” and then Scott Holbrook from Simpson Helmets selected Elkins for the win because of his clean and innovative design.
Tim Dixon of Gas Axe Chop Shop in Ten Mile, Tennessee, and his bike Pennie Lane earned enough votes by fellow builders to take first-place honors and win FreeStyle. Tim is now one of the elite members of TEAM USA and part of the North American contingent that will travel to Cologne, Germany, and Intermot 2018 to bring the world Championship back to the states.
The Kustom Kulture Artisan Show wrapped up the series finale at OC Bikefest on September 14 – 16 with three ride-in shows with the last day winner, Steve Younkin, taking the “Big Dog” award and qualifying for the AIMExpo Championship of the Americas. Once he arrives in Dayton, OH,
