Dallas, Texas is the final stop before the championship round of the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show. Over 60 bikes were looking to win or place and to move on to the Chicago to compete for $70,000 in cash and prizes.

The enthusiasm for Dallas was palatial with custom sleds coming from all over the great state of Texas and as far away as Colorado. In this show there weren’t losers, there were just outstanding bikes of various makes and models that satisfied every enthusiast’s desire. choppa, bobber, bagger, café, mild custom, sportbike… you name it, it was on the show floor.

2018 Ultimate Builder FreeStyle Class winner

The Motorcycle Missions Veterans entry took 1st place in FreeStyle and won the People’s Choice award. The bike features an 1974 Shovel mil in a custom boardtrack frame. The little bike boasts a custom front end, exhaust and fenders. It is a splendid bike that will compete for 1st place in the championship and a check for $10,000.

Runner-up: # – 1100 Chris Jones – 2016 Custom Chopper

Winning a portion of the 70,000 in Cash and Awards – 1st and 2nd place get their entry fee paid for entering and competing in the season ending Championship round.

Ultimate Builder Results in Dallas – 2018 Custom Street Class Winner

Sofi Tsingos builds bikes you want to ride. She started her life as a Ducati mechanic and transitioned into a custom bike builder. And along the way she has built up an incredible social media following. So much so, she was tapped to be the International Motorcycle Show’s guest Instagram reporter.  Sofi’s 2008 Ducati features a handmade tank, 3D printed dash, rebuilt wheels, clip-ons and Rizoma grips.

Custom Street Winner

Winner: # 1550 – Sofi Tsingos, GT-Moto – 2008 Ducati

Runner-up: # 275 – Roy Martin, Roy’s Toys Customs – Named Rump Roast, 2014 Softail-style,

Winning a portion of the 70,000 in Cash and Awards – 1st and 2nd place get their entry fee paid for entering and competing in the season ending Championship round.

Ultimate Builder Results in Dallas – 2018 MOD Retro Class

Tom Miller brought in two bikes for the Retro Mod Class and took 1st place with his 1967 XLCH Harley Sportster. The bike had flawless paint, flawless chrome and it gleamed as a 1970’s period-correct chopper. Tom will be heading to Chicago to compete with the class winners from the 5 other rounds in the championship series.

2018 Ultimate Builder MOD Harley Class winner

The Harley-Davidson baggers were on display and out in force at the Dallas edition of the J&P Cycles. Misfit Industries rolled in 6 bikes and won MOD Harley with USS79, a 2006 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. The battle grey bagger features a 26” custom wheel, Beringer Brakes and full air ride.

Bike Show Rules:

  • Freestyle – Open class for any build with a motorcycle based drive train; Any 2 or 3 wheel motorcycle as defined by the DMV. Motorcycle must run.
  • Mod Retro – Open class for any build with a motorcycle based drive train 1984 or older; OEM driveline with stock, modified or aftermarket frame. No reproduction engines allowed. Any 2 or 3 wheel motorcycle as defined by the DMW. Motorcycle must run.
  • Custom Street – Must have a major OEM engine and frame. Neck may be cut to rake or stretch frame. Hard tail sections, stretched swing arms and wide tire kits are acceptable. Includes OEM cases. Any 2 or 3 wheel motorcycle as defined by the DMV. Excluding Harley-Davidson. Motorcycle must run.
  • Mod Harley – Must have Harley-Davidson engine cases and frame. Neck may be cut to rake or stretch frame. Hard tail sections and wide tire kits are acceptable. Touring models, Softails, Dynas, FXRs, Sportsters and V-Rods qualify for this class. Must be a 2 or 3 wheel motorcycle configuration as defined by the DMV. Motorcycle must run.

The International Motorcycle Show will provide the prize money to the winning contestants (subject to winners complying with the Official Rules and returning all signed affidavits and releases as requested) for a Contest, as set forth in the Official Rules and tentatively as follows for all cities, except Chicago:

  • Freestyle Category Winner will receive US$1,000 and a trophy. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of trophy US$50. Total ARV of cash and trophy US$1,050. Runner up will receive a plaque. ARV of plaque US$50.
  • Mod Retro Category Winner will receive US$750 and a trophy.  ARV of trophy US $50. Total ARV of cash and trophy US$800. Runner up will receive a plaque. ARV US$50.
  • Custom Street Category Winner will receive US$500 and a trophy.  ARV of trophy is US $50. Total ARV of cash and trophy US$550. Runner up will receive a plaque. ARV US$50.
  • Mod Harley Category Winner will receive US$750 and a trophy.  ARV of trophy US$50. Total ARV of cash and trophy US$800. Runner up will receive a plaque. ARV US$50.
  • Sponsored Categories Winner will receive a prize determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.
  • BEST DYNA / FXR will receive a plaque. ARV of plaque US$50.
  • BEST Chopper will receive a plaque. ARV of plaque US$50.
  • BEST Bagger will receive a plaque. ARV of plaque US$50.
  • People’s Choice will receive a plaque. ARV of plaque US$50.

Chicago Championship Round . The following prizes are applicable only to the Chicago Event:

  • Freestyle Category Winner will receive US$10,000, trophy and championship ring. ARV of trophy and ring US$400. Total ARV of cash, ring and trophy is US$10,400.  Runner up will receive a plaque. ARV of plaque: US$10.
  • Mod Retro Category Winner will receive US$1,500 and a trophy.  ARV value of trophy US$50. Total ARV of cash and trophy US$1,550. Runner up will receive a plaque. ARV of plaque US$50.
  • Custom Street Category Winner will receive US$1,500 and a trophy.  ARV of trophy US $50. Total ARV of cash and trophy US$1,550
  • Mod Harley Category Winner will receive US$2,000 and a trophy.  ARV of trophy US $100. Total ARV of cash and trophy US$2100.
  • Sponsored Categories Winner will receive a prize determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.
  • Championship participants receive a product prize package determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion for a total purse of $50,000 + the value of Sponsor Award prizes.
