Since its inception a half decade ago, OC Bikefest has emerged as one of the favorite fall events in Ocean City, MD. Popular among the motorcycle enthusiasts is the Customization in America (CIA) OC Bikefest Custom Bike Show. It provides a mix of national and regional builders in a slugfest of the top FreeStyle and Retro Mod builders.
FreeStyle Class – CIA Custom Bike Show
Jeremy Cupp’s takes CIA Custom Bike Show – Jeremy Cupp is the mastermind behind LC Fabrications. He rolled in his immaculately built custom sled featuring a 500cc Buell Blast motor with a Ducati top-end that is mated to a Triumph transmission. It might sound like a Frankenstein but it is the coolest little rocket at OC Bikefest. For his effort Bob Kay awarded him a check for $2,000.
The bike is called “Seven” – as it’s the seventh proper motorcycle to roll out of the LC Fabrications garage. As custom motorcycles go, this is an absolute masterpiece.

Dell Battle’s Custom Sportster
Dell Battle’s custom Sportster has only been in two shows and it took a 1st at the Harley-Davidson Museum Show and second at the CIA OC Bikefest Custom Bike Show.
This bike features a stock but highly-modified frame with air ride front and rear with a radical custom paint job.
Retro MOD – CIA Custom Bike Show
The Retro MOD winner for the 2015 CIA OC Bikefest Custom Bike Show is from builder Scott Stickman of Elwood Cycle. He rolled in his exquisite 1947 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead with matching numbers and rolled out with $2,000 for his effort. The red and white bobber features a custom rear fender, sissy bar and springer front end.

- 2nd Place – Bob Morefield – 1981 Sportster
Bob Morefield’s 1981 Sportster is a fan favorite. If you are old enough you probably rode a custom Sporty or someone in your posse did. Bob’s scoot is 30 years in the making and features a chrome springer with a 43 degree rake and a 3.5 nch stretch. The engine has been freshened up and totally re-chromed. Up front he rides with dual disc brakes, dual headlights and a high-mount Mustang tank. Bob rides away with $500 in cash award.
- People’s Choice Award – Scott Stickman of Elwood Cycle was awarded a 5 Ball Leathers’ Special Ops Vest for the win.
- Best Paint Award – Dell Battle’s custom Sportster wins best paint. He was also was awarded a 5 Ball Leathers’ Special Ops Vest for the win.
By entering the CIA show, the builders have an opportunity to win $5,000 in cash awards. In addition, the FreeStyle winner takes an additional $2,000 to attend AIMExpo in Orlando during Biketoberfest. Jeremy Cupp will represent CIA OC Bikefest in Orlando. Then the winner of the AIMExpo CIA Championship of the Americas is sent to the 2016 AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in Germany.
The roaring waves aren’t the only thing people heard during OC Bikefest. Accompanying the thunderous motors of thousands of bikes were the headlining concerts including Great White and Kix, REO Speedwagon and The Doobie Brothers on Saturday. Also, bikers were treated to afternoon concerts by Porch 40, Big Engine, Kashmir, and Higher Education.
The Inlet is the central location for OC BikeFest, where the majority of the events take place. Musicians, bands and celebrities are present for the bikers to listen to and interact with. Enthusiasts met the custom builders including world-renown Jeremy Cupp, Evan Favaro, the custom bike builder from OCC, Atomic Bob, a world famous pinstriper, Harley-Davidson artist Scott Jacobs and TV personality Michelle Smith to name just a few.
