Biker Pros is happy to announce the first round of builders participating in the 2nd Annual AMD Invitational Custom Bike Show, which is held in Milwaukee on the Harley-Davidson Museum campus during the 110th Celebration.

It starts on Thursday, August 29, 2013 and runs through Sunday night on September 1, 2013.

We are excited about all of the builders that are participating in the custom show,” commented Bob Kay, Biker Pros’ Partner. “We have seen most of these builders in the Ultimate Builder series and look forwrd to seeing their latest builds in Milwaukee.

David “Dave” Mann (September 10, 1940 – September 11, 2004) was a California graphic artist whose paintings celebrated biker culture, and choppers. Called “the biker world’s artist-in-residence,” his images are ubiquitous in biker clubhouses and garages, on motorcycle gas tanks, tattoos, and on t-shirts and other memorabilia associated with biker culture. Choppers have been built based on the bikes first imagined in a David Mann painting.

While innovation has always been a hallmark of the World Championship of Custom Bike Building, the 10th anniversary of the show reached a new level. Held for the first time in Europe, at the Big Bike Europe Expo in Essen, Germany, the Championship showcased motorcycles, scooters, trikes and sidecar outfits. Among the power units being employed by the 105 competitors were not only American V-twins, but also Italian singles and V-twins, Japanese multis and singles, a diesel, an engine from a Honda generator and even a 1920’s boat engine. The AMD Invitational Custom Bike Show is 50% Full in Milwaukee

chickThousands  of motorcycles are converging on Milwaukee this coming Labor Day for a weekend full of excitement. The Harley-Davidson Museum is hosting the AMD Affiliate  Custom Bike Show as part of the 13th annual “Milwaukee Rally” and the Harley-Davidson 110th Celebraiotn.

“We will have some of the best free-style bikes in the world on display,” Bob Kay with Biker Pros said. “We have bikes coming in from both coasts to compete at the mecca of custom bikes.”

Competition Heats Up in FreeStyle Class

Rick Bray is rolling in his award-winning Pala Duo custom sled to compete in the 2013 edition of the AMD Affiliate Custom Bike Show. If he wins the class he will be joing an elite group of Team USA members that receive a complmentary pass and travel to Germany in 2014 to represent the USA and compete in the World Championships.

Polaris’ First Quarter Profit Jumps 26 Percent

1104-hbkp-01-z+polaris-acquires-indian-motorcyclei+polaris-logoSnowmobile and ATV maker Polaris Industries Inc. announced that its first quarter profit rose 26 percent as a huge jump in snowmobile and rising off-road vehicle sales offset weaker sales of on-the-road vehicles.

Despite concerns about customer “timidity” because of U.S. payroll tax increases, as well as economic risks in North America and Europe, Polaris raised its outlook for the year. It said new products should help fuel growth in the second half of the year.

The Minneapolis company’s net income from January through March was $75.5 million, or $1.07 per share, compared with $60.1 million, or 85 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue grew 11 percent to $745.9 million.
