Custom MOD J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Winner
Paul Binford brought three bikes to San Mateo and came away a winner in the Custom MOD class. Paul is known for his big and bold design and a FTW attitude. He entered a customer’s 2005 Roadglide that had come into the shop with a severe case of road rash. So the bike was disassembled and rebuilt to the customer’s specifications. The results? An award winning Bagger.

  1. – Binford Custom Cycles, Paul Binford – Bike Name: Bad Investment, 2005 Harley-Davidson Roadglide
  2. – AFT Customs, Jim Giuffra – Bike Name: Cimeron, 2014 Honda CB836
Dalton Walker Takes Retro MOD at Ultimate Builder

Dalton Walker Takes Retro MOD

Retro MOD J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Winner
Dalton Walker rolled in his 1937 custom Flathead and it just stood out from the crowd. The bike is homage to the 1970’s diggers. The bike features Dalton Walker’s style of high-end fabrication with custom fittings and custom components throughout.

  1. SIK, Dalton Walker – 1937 UL, Flathead 74 with split backbone
  2. RKB Kustom Speed, Rick Bray – Bike Name: 1 Piece at a Time, Custom shovelhead built for Biker live

More Winners – Larry Lovisone and his 1994 Honda RC45 won the People’s Choice award and took home a Bell Bullit helmet and a 5 Ball Racing Leathers’ Special Ops Jacket. Jim Carducci won the Show Dog award, a Solo saddlebag from Leatherworks . The Show Dog is for the builder or dealer that really works the show and spends time with the enthusiasts.

Bob Kay normally handles the awards ceremony but is off working on a project with AIMExpo and will not be on the tour this year. My stage partner is the Progressive MC, Pat Jansen. As Jose’ came up for his award in FreeStyle, Pat talked about how so many builders look like convicts and with the advent of the SOA TV show, California is looked upon as an outlaw state.

That comment turned down the volume in the show and I thought I was going to bust a gut on stage… Looks like it just might be a fun ride this year.
