Prust rolls his Indian into Harley-Davidson’s 111th Anniversary Bike Show and rolls out in 2nd place

Up against a cool 2Mil in custom bikes sitting on the floor, Tony Prust of Analog Motorcycles took second with a screamin’ red 1949 Indian Scout accented in gold leaf. Talk about old school!

That Scout named “THE CONTINENTAL SCOUT” got my fingers itchin’ to crack the throttle and enjoy an ultra-cool, nimble experience like my grandpappy had – only with amped power in a customized ride, like he never got to enjoy.

Total Engine Rebuild

Total Engine Rebuild

The engine was fully rebuild by ZYZX. The bike features a custom-made billet cylinder, 12v conversion, electronic ignition, and a custom designed oiling system with overhead rocker maniforld and oil tank. Brando painted this classy ride, using Kiel Crown Autobody, Gold Leaf and Striping. Frame Crafters built the track master style frame, and Payletic contributed the fully hand-formed aluminum tank, seat and fairing.

Did I say fairing? That baby just might protect you enough for a short ride in Milwaukee come winter. Both practical and handsome, it for sure will extend the temperature range for riding. Another thing Grandpappy never got to enjoy is the Gazi rear shocks from Australia, smoothin’ the ride. The custom seat – yep, another major upgrade to a ’49 Indian – is a Magura Levers by Rod’s Designs. The TZ750 GP syle brake drums were custom laced to polished rims. Another great touch is the LED lighting behind brass covers; both the front fender and brass were formed courtesty of Mike Ardito.

The show itself was a thing of beauty. Harley-Davidson pulled out all the stops in their hometown of Milwaukee, with a display of stellar custom bikes laid out under 3 stunning chandeliers in Harley’s glass-walled, seasonal tent they call the Chrome. Turnout was high, making the Show worthwhile for the builders, and one I have no intention of missing come next year.
