Ultimate Builder heading to Sturgis

Word has it that Harley-Davidson will not be hosting a ride-in show in Sturgis, SD this year. Combined with the fact that the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building has relocated to Germany from the Harley pavilion, this leaves the downtown area off Lazalle without the benefit of a custom Bike Show.

That was until Advanstar decided to bring the Ultimate Builder Circus to town. Details are being finalized with a projected mid-week date. A street located adjacent to the downtown Harley-Davidson facility will be closed down for the day to host the event.

What Builders Say about the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show Series

The J&P Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show provides 5 custom classes for builders, dealers and enthusiasts to show their custom sleds. We polled them about what they thought of the series. Here is what a few of them had to say.

The Ultimate Builder matches the best custom bike builders in the country against one another as it tours the U.S. in conjunction with the International Motorcycle Shows.

“There were a lot of things about the show that I thought were great. The level of quality in the motorcycles, the show’s displays, awards, and venue, along with the integration with new product manufacturers, made for a really impressive show.”

I’ve been scrambling from project to project, but this feature always lingered in the back of my mind, like it haunted me. I picked it as the Long Beach Ultimate Builder Bikernet Editor’s Choice winner, and Peter Linney immediately shot it for a feature, and then he wanted his payment. I didn’t like the way he shot this bike, but I was also very aware how difficult a twisted chrome frame is to photograph under any conditions.
