Brad Hall caught the bug early. His dad lived on a utility road in the Tacoma, Washington, area called the “Pipeline,” a long gravel road with trails on both sides. After his parents divorced, Brad would go to his dad’s on weekends where he could hear motorcycles coming from “miles away.” He remembers running out to the road just to watch them ride by. Recognizing this passion Brad had for bikes, his dad finally sprung for a mini-bike, one with gold metal-flake and a rip cord engine. His dad would fire it up for him nice and early on weekends and Brad would ride all day long.

Ahhh, New York. It’s the largest show on the IMS circuit with the greatest amount of enthusiasts, custom bikes and media presence. Since it’s the Big Apple, you never know who will make their way into the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

This year MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden made a guest appearance on Saturday and Marky Mark slipped in on Friday to check out the custom bikes.

The 2014 edition of the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show is integrated into the Progressive International Motorcycle Show with custom bikes positioned on oval pads located on the glass and steel arch that connects the two halls in the downtown Seattle convention center.

Enthusiasts are able to walk around the customs and get a full 360 degree view. The glass arch is lit by spots and Christmas-style twinkle lights that deliver a museum-like venue to view some of the most amazing motorcycles from the Northwest. At 2014 SOCAL Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show in Long Beach, CA. As the start of the Polar Vortex season streaked across the nation, the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show kicked off in SOCAL with balmy 75 degrees and some hot customs from West Coast builders.

The Progressive International Motorcycle Show plays host to the Ultimate Builder. Every custom bike is placed on a J&P Cycles’ oval carpet surrounded by a steel ring and positioned on the red carpet that runs through the main isle. Phoenix, AZ is known for Baggers. And when the J&P Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show rolled into Phoenix, the Baggers rolled out for the International Motorcycle Show and into the Custom Show.

Big wheel sleds from Sideshow’s Cycles, Insane Asylum, Spooky Fast, Bagger’s Inc., Torch Industries, Stellar Cycles and Brian Jenkins of Hatred Industries all had something to offer. And with all that fire power, only one Bagger took a win. Bananas!

The parade of bikes that rolled into the kick off of the 2014 J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show series included nationally known builders like SIK, AFT Customs, RKB Speed Kustoms and Binford Custom Motorcycles. The last man standing was none other than Rick Bray of RKB Speed Kustoms with his FreeStyle-class build known as the Solomon Special.
