Skidmark Garage Thankful for Participation

Skidmark Garage

Meet the Builders

Many months ago, Tom Wronkovich of Whiskey Grade got this ball rolling when he decided he needed to step into my world and help Skidmark Garage stay alive.

Because he’s connected to some serious decision makers, he proposed the idea of having community motorcycle garages (CMGs) play some sort of role in all the IMS shows this season. This led to Zach Rudio from Progressive’s marketing firm, MatchMG, getting in touch with me.

Zach contacted a CMG in every city that the IMS show was going to and organized the stage schedule in such a way that we were all given the opportunity to plug our respective business (and business model) to the entire crowd in the Progressive area of the show. I was lucky enough to present six times over the course of the weekend.

Waffle House for Christmas – Obviously, I’d been bad this year

Golden brown waffles

A friend of mine had this to say about Waffle House. He said that he had read that Waffle House had decided to go up-market and was looking to create a better environment and better tasting food.

Waffle House for Christmas – And since it was Christmas and two Waffle Houses had recently opened and since it was the only thing open except gas stations, he decided to give one a try… his thoughts: “It’s much worse than I remember it.” [Read more…]

The Cry for Quiet: Noise Nazis @ Our Door

Aftermarket Exhaust

The Fight For Sound

Today’s auto manufacturers do all they can to insulate the driver from the noise that is coincidental with the act of driving. Add stereos, texting, cell phones, tinted windows, and visibility as well as attention is diminished. Even though it hasn’t been scientifically proven, it’s rational that ‘loud pipes save lives.’

Noise Free America and Ted Rueter want noise laws to be enforced. [Read more…]

Get the Broom Out – Indian Sweeps Sacramento Mile

May 21, 2017 – American Flat Track Twins presented by Vance & Hines. Bryan Smith Wins Again! He demonstrated his mastery of the Mile with a tactically brilliant victory aboard his No. 1 Indian Motorcycle Racing backed by Allstate Scout FTR750.

The 5th round of this year’s 18-race American Flat Track Twins presented by Vance & Hines saw Bryan Smith passing the stripe 1st with Jared Mees (No. 9 Indian Motorcycle Rogers Racing Scout FTR750) and Brad Baker (No. 6 Indian Motorcycle Racing backed by Allstate Scout FTR750) following in succession.

Almost immediately, the Indian-mounted teammate/rivals ripped away from the rest of the Main Event field. They then waged an intra-team battle that alternately required pace, patience, slipstreaming and strategy for practically the entirety of the 25-mile distance.

PHOENIX (MAY 15, 2017) – Indian Motorcycle Racing continued its dominance of the flat track with its second podium sweep of the season. Indian Motorcycle’s “Wrecking Crew” is living up to its legendary moniker as Bryan Smith, Brad Baker and Jared Mees finished 1-2-3, respectively.

After two red flags, and as the sun began to set, the AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines Main Event was reconfigured into a dramatic five-lap shootout. At the second and final restart, Baker again resumed his place at the front of the field and appeared well on his way to grabbing his first victory of 2017. Smith earned his second consecutive victory by ducking inside Baker with two laps remaining – edging him out by .057 seconds.
